Hello everyone!

Overall, well done Microsoft. They didn’t bother with entertainment or Kinect this year. The press conference was filled with games, and that’s exactly what Microsoft should have been doing all along. While I’m still not convinced to get an Xbox One, the exclusives shown were compelling arguments. Rebooting older Xbox exclusives is a good call, and it will help Microsoft compete with the exclusives of Sony and Nintendo.
Going back to my E3 Expectations:
– Halo 5 official reveal (Check!)
– More news on Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break (Check!)
– Reveal their “big” Japanese game exclusive (Check! [Scalebound])
– Any other exclusive games (Check! [Crackdown, Phantom Dust])
– Some kind of exclusive content only available on Xbox (kind of like how there’s exclusive content on PS3/PS4) (Check! [multiple games have exclusive content on Xbox; either timed or permanent])
– Use the IP from Rare (Conker, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie). Already on the right track by making Killer Instinct last year. (Conker appeared, but not in his own game. Killer Instinct Season Two, but that seems more like DLC)
– Lower the price of Xbox Live Gold (PS Plus is $10 less) (Still the same)
– Avoid talking about anything other than games. All of Microsoft’s press conferences are boring because half the time is spent talking about features that aren’t game-related. (Check! Nothing but games)
– NO KINECT DEMOS. PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. (Check! No Kinect in sight, except for the announcement of Dance Central. Even then, no demo.)
Microsoft: 8/10
EA is up next. Look forward to my report!
